Summary

Nun is the primordial ocean of chaos from which Atum emerges to create the world. Nun is not a god in the narrative sense but an eternal principle: the undifferentiated, limitless waters that precede creation and surround it. Every year Nun returns partially in the Nile flood—hence creation repeats cyclically. Nun represents potential energy, the substrate from which ordered reality perpetually emerges and into which it periodically dissolves. (المصدر: raw/egyptian/إعادة_قراءة_الأساطير_المصرية.md)

Symbolic Reading

Nun = the chaos-waters. Not evil but necessary. Atum cannot create without Nun to emerge from and against. The annual flood is Nun reasserting itself temporarily—creation must continuously defend order against chaos. (المصدر: raw/egyptian/إعادة_قراءة_الأساطير_المصرية.md)
