Summary
Horus is the falcon-god, son of Osiris and Isis, born after Osiris's death. He defeats Set to avenge his father and reclaim the throne of Egypt. Horus represents the new generation, the fresh crop triumphing over drought. His eyes are the sun and moon; his Wedjat eye (restored by Thoth) is a symbol of wholeness and healing. As the rightful heir who defeats the chaos-bringer, Horus embodies legitimate kingship and justice. Every living pharaoh was called the "Horus" of his time.
